Waltham 29 is a variety that has fantastic flavor and 4-6" dark blue-green heads. As a cool weather crop, this should be grown in spring or fall. Broccoli does not tolerate summer heat.

Sow seeds indoors 8 weeks before the last frost. Cover with 1/2" of soil. After 5 weeks, transplant the seedlings into the garden 2' apart. If sown in fall, sow seeds directly into the garden 1" deep and 6" apart. when plants are 6" tall, thin them to 2' apart.
