Air plants are a classic plant for those who dislike dirt! Fast becoming a fantastic addition to any modern home, these live plants are low maintenance and easily kept alive in a terrarium. Misting every few days is suggested, as well as a weekly soak for about an hour. When soaking is done, shake out any excess water and allow to dry upside down for about 4 hours. For more detailed information, visit the blog post entitled "Air Plants- Tillandsia." An information card will also be sent with your order.
Tillandsia melanocrater tricolor is native to Central America and Mexico. The brown base of this species is a normal feature and does not indicate poor plant health. Depending on the light levels this species receives, the plant can range in color from green to red, unrelated to the blush air plants display during blooming. When preparing to bloom, the plant will darken to a green or purple, depending once again on the light levels.
