Spider plants are a houseplant classic- and for good reason! They are a fantastic beginner plant, tolerate a variety of conditions, and to top it all off, they're pet safe! Spider plants tolerate low light well, do best in bright, and should be watered when the soil is 50-75% dry. As they grow, they will send out flower spikes that often have pups that can easily be put into new soil or left on the spike.
Spider plants are pet safe, so no worries here! Though, there is a warning for cat owners: it has the same effect as catnip. Because of this, cats can often come back for seconds after their first nibbles! Spider plants do well in tropical enclosures and can be easily controlled by trimming flower spikes.
