Also called Fishbone cactus, this is a species of epiphytic cactus native to Mexico and Central America. This cactus is more similar in care to an Easter Cactus or other Holiday Cacti. They appreciate moderate to high humidity and require more water than a desert cactus. It is important to not allow your cactus to remain in water or stay moist for prolonged periods of time.
Ric Rac Cacti, like many other cacti, are pet safe, so no worries here! If wanting to include them in a reptile enclosure, they will thrive in tropical enclosures where they have the potential to be mounted to the wall or on a branch.
