Monstera deliciosa 'White Monster' is a stunning variety with the potential for nearly all white leaves with dark green to contrast it nicely. Though this is a fancy plant, it is very easy to care for! The white portions of the leaves does mean it grows a touch slower than an all green variety, but place your White Monster in an area where it receives medium to bright light, water when the soil is 50-75% dry, and it will thank you with even bigger and better leaves! Monstera tolerate low light, but do best in bright.
Monstera spp., like other plants in the Araceae family, contain insoluble calcium oxalates, which can cause oral and GI irritation, as well as other symptoms. Because of this, they are not considered pet safe when it comes to our furry friends. If you were thinking of including it in a tropical enclosure, don't let that stop you! Even if your reptile takes a chomp out of the vine, they have different tolerances than our furry friends. Treat this like a pothos, where it can be allowed to climb or trail within the enclosure.
