Sometimes referred to as Ficus Moonshine, this variety has light green foliage flecked with dark green spots. Thinner leaves on Ficus 'Shivereana' as opposed to the original Ficus elastica, make it less hardy and adaptable, so it is a must to keep up with watering to keep these plants happy and healthy. Water when the soil is 50-75% dry.
Ficus Shivereana contains two compounds unique to the ficus genus that can cause nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. The sap can also cause skin irritation. While not severely toxic, it is still something to beware. The sap irritation makes ficus not safe for reptile enclosures either.
Plants will be shipped bare root and are suitable for a 6 inch pot.
