Also called Mexican Hens and Chicks, this succulent is native to northern Mexico. The squat rosette is made of leaves with crinkled edges that come in a variety of colors. The leaves will take on a pinkish hue when exposed to bright light and fade to grey if not. As with other succulents, be sure to put your Echeveria in a spot with bright light and only water when bone dry. When you water, be sure to saturate the soil.
Echeveria, like many other succulents, are pet safe, so no worries when it comes to our furry friends! Their stout size makes them a perfect addition to arid reptile enclosures. Should your animal knock a leaf off, there is a potential for the leaf to grow a new plant where it lays, though they are fairly sturdy.
