These beets have a beautiful dark red flesh and a sweet flavor. They grow perfectly round to a 3" diameter. If smaller beets are preferred, harvest sooner. This cool season crop should be sown in spring or fall. They do not tolerate summer heat. The greens are often used in salads or as microgreens.

Sow 1" deep and 3" apart 2-3 weeks before the last frost. Germination will occur in 14-21 days. When tops are 4-5" tall, thin to 3" apart. Pinching or cutting the leaves will prevent damage to nearby seedling roots.
