Buttergold Corn is a sweet, tender, and delicious yellow corn that keeps well. The sugar enhanced ears have long keeping quality and are good for freezing. It can be planted earlier than other varieties. Sow seeds 1” deep and 10“ apart in rows 30” wide. It's ready to harvest after 63 days with 7-8" ears growing on plants that are 5-6' tall. Easy to grow and a great choice for new gardeners.

Buttergold has exceptional cold soil emergence and early maturity and that means you'll be harvesting the 7-8" ears of tender, butter-gold kernels ahead of other varieties.
Corn is wind-pollinated so plant them together in a block. These plants are heavy feeders on available soil nutrients. If organic compost or manure wasn't worked into the soil last fall, they will need additional compost added during the growing season.
