Anthurium hookeri has interesting, undulating leaves that can reach impressive sizes! The leaves are thick and leathery, almost feeling fake. Dense roots will secure this species to trees in its natural habitat in South American rainforests.
Anthurium contain insoluble calcium oxalates, which cause GI irritation in our furry friends, so it is best to keep this plant out of reach from them. Anthurium, however, make great additions to tropical bioactive enclosures! The strong leaves can hold mature geckos and frogs without much bending.
