Australian Lucky Beans are true beans! They are classified in the legume family with single beans that are several inches long and can be seen at the surface of the soil in young plants. In their natural habitat in Australia, they form trees that can grow to be 100 feet tall, though in cultivation in homes, they remain much smaller, capping out at about 4 to 6 feet, and taking years to reach that height. Keep the soil evenly moist to promote growth.
Lucky Beans are considered toxic to people and furry friends, keep this plant out of their reach. Reptiles can tolerate their toxins, and will thrive especially in tropical enclosures for geckos, frogs, and similar pets.
