This alocasia isn't an alocasia at all! It has been reclassified to the genus Xanthosoma. You will still find the most information about it under its old name, Alocasia Mickey Mouse, as many will still refer to it by that name. The variegated leaves can sometimes make the leaves appear to have a hidden Mickey Mouse in the highly variable leaves. Place your Mickey Mouse in an area where it will receive moderate to bright light and water when the soil is about 50% dry.
Xanthosoma sagittifolium is not pet safe and can cause GI upset in our furry friends. It is best kept away from curious cats and dogs. They thrive in tropical enclosures! Mickey Mouse is not as strong as many true alocasia, and will not be able to support adult geckos and large frogs, but can easily support micro geckos and adult medium to small frog species.
Plants will be shipped bare root. Photos are representative and some natural variation should be expected.
