There are many variegated prickly pear species out there, but this one stands out! It isn't uncommon for the backside of pads to be almost if not entirely white, while the other side has bursts of dark green to compliment the white portions. When grown in full sun or under bright grow lights, new growth and white or cream portions can flush pink, adding to their already unique appearance. Like other cacti, place your prickly pear in an area where it will get bright light and water only when the soil is bone dry.
Opuntia, like many cacti are pet safe. Also like many cacti, they can have some pretty impressive thorns. So while they are non toxic, their thorns are something to consider for curious cats and dogs. Their thorns also make them unsafe for reptile enclosures.
Plants will be shipped bare root and are suitable for a 6 inch pot. Photos are representative and some natural variations should be expected.
