Tillandsia balbisiana has a larger native range than some other Tillandsias out there. You can find them growing naturally from Florida, throughout Central America to Columbia, Venezuela, and the West Indies. As this plant matures, the leaves will become more of an accent, drooping down towards and beyond its base. A good choice for those just beginning with air plants. Air plants are pet safe, so no worries here! I will often warn cat owners that many air plants are also cat toy shaped! They make perfect additions to topical reptile and amphibian enclosures. They are best secured with fishing line for easy removal should the plants need additional care or to be moved around the enclosure to assist with enrichment.
