The delicate foliage hides an interesting feature of this fern! There are fuzzy rhizomes the leaves grow from, resembling a rabbit's foot! This fern stores water in the rhizomes, making ti more drought tolerant than other ferns. That being said, they should still be watered before the soil is completely dry to ensure the fronds grow thick and healthy!
Ferns are pet safe, so no worries for our furry friends here! Ferns thrive in tropical enclosures. Rabbits foot ferns are thin and delicate, so they are better suited for enclosures with smaller animals, like mourning geckos or dart frogs where they will be used as a hide.
