Easter cacti are often confused with the much more common Christmas and Thanksgiving cacti. They have similar flowers, but the Easter cactus, Hatiora gaertneri, is in a totally different genus! The easiest way to tell an Easter cactus apart is by looking at the edges of the leaves. The Easter cactus will have scalloped edges, where the other holiday cacti have much more spiked margins. All of the holiday cacti have the same range in flower colors. Like other succulents, place your Easter cactus where it will receive bright light and water when dry.
All Holiday cacti are pet safe. They can also be included in arid bioactive enclosures.
