This wonderful fall flower is native to much of the United States and into Canada. It goes by the names Sneezeweed, Helen's Flower and Helenium autumnale. While the first name may make your nose itch, it isn't a contributor to fall allergies! Indigenous populations used it as a snuff to treat the common cold, hence "sneezeweed." This prolific bloomer is constantly covered in pollinators while in flower from August to October. Expect this plant to grow 3-5' tall and 2-3' wide. It does best in wet areas, even standing water, but also does well in average soils. Tolerates deer, rabbits, and clay. This will bring in many pollinators, such as bees and butterflies into your garden. It will also attract songbirds.

This plant is BARE ROOT. It will be shipped as dormant roots and should be planted upon arrival. Water the roots in and wait! If planting in fall, the new shoots are unlikely to sprout until next spring.
