Iris are a staple in many gardens all across the US. Blue Flag Iris is native to the northeastern region, with other populations in Michigan, Idaho, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. Like many other irises, Iris versicolor, thrives in wet areas and can tolerate up to 4 inches of standing water. Hummingbirds, bees, tiger swallowtail butterflies, and other pollinators will stop to visit the flowers that appear in summer. This species of iris will grow 2-3' tall and make a great addition to a garden with average soil moisture, but thrive in moist to wet gardens or rain gardens.
Iris versicolor is hardy in zones 3a-9b. Organic seeds are collected from a SW PA population. 30 seeds per packet.
