Greek oregano is true oregano and is desired for its strong aroma and spicy intense flavor. Oregano is a staple in Italian, Greek, and Mexican cooking. The flavor stands up to bold flavors like tomatoes, onion, garlic, and beef.

Greek oregano is a drought tolerant, bushy perennial with bright, deep purple-brown stems and 1 1/2" leaves that often have a red flush. Branched clusters of purple-pink flowers will appear all summer. When mature, oregano will reach 18" tall and wide.

Seeds can be started indoors.

Sow seeds after the last frost date. Plant 1/4" deep and then thin them to 6" apart. Water and trim often to delay blooming.  Seeds will germinate in 7-14 days.

Plant in a sunny location with well-draining soil. Water seeds frequently and keep moist until they germinate. As the plants become established they do well in slightly drier conditions.

This packet contained 300 organic seeds and will plant a 100' row.
