Chamaedorea elegans often goes by the common names parlor palm and Neanthe Bella Palm. It can be found growing naturally in rainforests of Guatemala and southern Mexico and is one of the most shade tolerant palms. This is a slow growing palm, reaching about 6-10 feet tall in their natural environments, often staying much smaller when grown indoors. This plant can tolerate low humidity and relatively low light levels, but do best in bright indirect light and with moderate to high humidity.
Parlor palms are pet safe, so no worries here! They also make great additions to tropical enclosures where they will often be used as a hide with their full foliar displays. They are a great way to add height to a planted enclosure without taking up too much lateral space.
Plants will be shipped bare root and are suitable for a 4 inch pot.
