This stout variety of alocasia has dark veins and a margin that almost outlines the entire leaf. They look as though they may have fallen straight off of a dragon! Like other alocasia, place your dragon scale where it will receive moderate to bright light indoors, and water when the soil is between 50-75% dry. Alocasia can tolerate low light conditions.
While members of the Alocasia genus, like other Aroids, have insoluble calcium oxalates, which make them unsafe for cats or dogs, as they cause mouth irritation and GI upset, they are a fantastic addition to tropical bioactive enclosures! Reptiles can tolerate these crystals and often will leave the plants alone. Their leaves are thick enough to hold mature geckos and most frogs.
Plants will be shipped bare root. Photos are representative and some variation should be expected.
